Recommended Software and Browsers

This document contains the list of recommended systems and web browsers for use with Online Classroom. Please note that the information below is from the Software Vendor. Alternative and newer versions of the listed operating systems and browsers may or may not work properly with OC in certain cases, but there should be no expectation that they do. We will submit any reported problems to Desire2Learn for newer operating systems and browsers, such as Mac 10.5, Safari 4, Chrome, and Internet Explorer 8.

Desire2Learn is no longer supporting Netscape or Mozilla.

Latest Support Statement

For the 8.4.2 and 9.0.+ series of the LE the Browser Support is the same. We Support IE 7 and 8 up to the current versions. We no longer support IE 6 as Microsoft has also offically closed all support for that browser. We support up to the latest release of Firefox (3.6.6), but we do not currently support the Firefox 4 Beta product that is available for public testing. We Support Safari in the Mac and PC versions currently available, but only those based on Windows or the OS/X operating systems. We do not currently support the Ipad version of the Safari Browser and we do not yet list Chrome as an officially supported browser.
